Manila Ocean Park

If you're in Manila and want to go to a tourist spot, then head on over to Manila Ocean Park. It's located behind the Quirino Grandstand.

Took these pictures when we visited the Manila Ocean Park on February 5, 2012.

I still have more photos than these.

Took a couple of photos at the pre-departure area and stitched them and uploaded to photosynth.

Biomass Gasifier Stove

We bought a gasifier stove to save on the cost of rising LPG prices.

This stove is powered by a 12v fan, and is fueled by rice husks.

I really don't know what happens but I think burning the rice husks and adding air or oxygen(?), produces fuel. That fuel could be carbon monoxide or methane gas(?)

I'm really not sure hence the "(?)".

All I know it creates an odorless gas that can be ignited with a match.

The video shows what happens inside. It just finished all its fuel but you can see it's producing some kind of flammable gas.

The flame starts out in a magenta color, then turns blue, and as it's about to finish all the rice husks, it turns back to magenta.

After all the rice husks have been burned out, just dump it and fill it up again.

It would be best to have 2 of these stoves for cooking, because one stove can last up to 30 minutes, and gets really hot.

Uses rice husks as fuel. Rice husk is sometimes excess garbage from rice mills that you can get for free or maybe at a cheap price.
Saves you of buying LPG. Our LPG lasts for about a month. We use 11kg of LPG. I think 11kg LPG costs P800+. Imagine the savings.

Needs electricity to work.
You need another unit if you want nonstop cooking of more than 30 minutes. Or the continuous type model.
