I bought myself a SATA docking station from CD-R King.
I was hoping to buy an external enclosure for a 2.5" SATA HDD, but they didn't have any on stock. So I got myself the dock. Works for both 2.5" and 3.5" HDDs.
I had no idea that the 3.5" and 2.5" SATA HDDs have the same connectors, until I bought this.
These are the contents in the packaging.
Comes with:
SATA dock
Power supply
Mini USB cable
Instruction manual
CD software installer
It has a glossy finish, that tends to be a fingerprint magnet.
It has a flap that folds when a 3.5" SATA drive is inserted, it tends to be easily scratched.
It has a "Back Up" button. Not sure what it does, but I'm thinking it works with the software, when installed.
It has a power indicator that lights up red. It doesn't flicker to show activity, just stays a steady red.
I don't know if powers itself down where the HDD stops spinning or if you have to manually turn it off via the switch behind the dock.
