Broken Camera Lens Motor?

I'm writing this post about my Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 18-135mm 1:3.5-5.6G ED lens.

I woke up one day wanting to take a picture of my room, but the camera didn't want to auto-focus, it would just focus back and forth and back and forth.

Now I tried taking the lens out and reattaching again, didn't work.
I tried cleaning the contacts, didn't work.
I tried removing the filter, didn't work.

One thing that I haven't tried is using a different lens.

It does focus an object when the zoom is set to 18mm but it would sometimes come out blurry.

Even in 135mm, on a sunny day, it would have a hard time trying to focus an object and if it does, the image isn't entirely in focus. (Check video and image link)

I suggest watching the video with earphones to hear the motor trying to auto-focus.

Fuji Ichiban

Last night, we went to Fuji Ichiban for dinner. I had no idea what to order, so I asked my sister what should I eat, and she told me to eat the tonkotsu.

Free Facebook on Globe Tattoo

I made a discovery the other night with Globe Tattoo.

I disconnected from my router's connection.
Plugged in the Globe Tattoo to the USB port.
Connected to the internet with zero balance.
Went to http://m.globe.com.ph
Clicked on "Check your Facebook status"

Then I was amazed that it led me to the Facebook Mobile status page. I updated my status just to see if it was free, lo and behold it updated. I tried visiting other people's profile, still worked. Then it stopped when I logged out.

Okay, from my understanding, while connected on the internet, log into your Facebook account, checkmark the "Keep me logged in" box and DO NOT log out. That's it!

Anytime you connect to the internet with your Globe Tattoo (with zero balance), just go to: http://m.facebook.com and if you're already logged in, then it worked! If not, then I guess, you load up your Globe Tattoo and connect to Facebook Mobile and don't log out.

I only tried this on my laptop.

Gundam kits at the Mall Of Asia 2

These kits were on display at the SM Department Store at the Mall of Asia.

The MG Wing Gundam is so small compared to the 1/100 Arios Gundam.

If you're not familiar with this Pokemon, it's #612 of the Isshu Dex (Unova for english) of Pokemon Black and White. I recolored the original image, which I can not find, to make it look shiny. Which by the way is awesome looking.

Boracay Island

A picture of Boracay Island I took while on a flight from Manila to Iloilo back in October. The dust on my camera's sensor is very visible.

Nikon D40 w/ AF-S Nikkor 18-135mm

This is my camera gear. Thanks to my brother for giving me his lens, swapped it with the 18-55mm kitlens. It does not have VR though. I like the lens a lot, but my brother has a Sigma lens 70-300mm for his Nikon D60, which is amazing cuz it auto focuses really fast.

Oh I have the CPL stacked over the UV filter, which is kinda stupid thing to do. :P

RG RX-78-2 Gundam

I bought this one as an early birthday gift for myself. Also, this just might be my last Gundam-related purchase for the year or for the next couple of months.

HGUC RGZ-95C ReZEL Commander type

Jen bought this for me at the Mall of Asia. People living in Manila are so lucky to have an assortment of Gundam kits in various malls.

I still haven't assembled this kit yet.

RZ-013 Buster Tortoise on sale at ToyTown

Last week while at Glorietta in Makati, Manila. Jen and I came upon ToyTown. Lots of toys! At cheap prices too! Sadly there weren't any Gundam kits inside, maybe they got blown away from the blast a few years ago (Look up Glorietta Blast), just those Gashapon random-figures-in-boxes type of toys.

While making our way to the exit, Jen pointed out to some model kits, turns out be Zoids kits. Kotobukiya HMM kits to be exact. The kit was also on sale, it was if you don't know, the Blaster Tortoise, marked down to the price of P1,500. I must say that's great find, nearly close the US dollar equivalent, without the shipping fees.

EDIT:
I did not buy the kit, thinking I might find something better at another place. I think there were 2 kits left.

Macross Zero VF-0A/S W/GHOST Scans

Sometime this year I was lucky to find someone on ebay.ph selling a Macross Zero kit. I bought it straight after thinking about it heavily. I did some research and the kit isn't like putting together a Gundam kit, it needed cement than just snapping it on together.

My package arrived yesterday! =] on Twitpic

I bought this item from Great Toys Online. It just arrived yesterday. I wasn't home to receive the item, but my aunt paid P260 for the shipping fee. Was she duped? The shipping company that delivered the item was AP Cargo Logistic Network Corporation.

The temperature outside

I was on a jeepney ride from Robinsons Mall today going home. Kept checking the thermometer on my watch. It peaked at 39.2°C. I guessing it could go higher if I stayed out longer, but hell no, it's so damn hot!

Laptops in public places

It sort of annoys me to see people with laptops all over SM City, especially the food court and Auntie Annie's "twisted bread". Sometimes I think people just want to show off their laptops. Especially the ones still having the protective packaging (brand new).

I have a phone with Wi-Fi capabilities and the wi-fi connection at SM City is almost non-existent it takes a super long time to load a webpage.

The image here shows a person playing Plants Vs. Zombies.

Why even bother bringing a laptop to the foodcourt, if all yo... on Twitpic

Final Fantasy VII Japanese Version

A couple of months ago, I was searching around ebay.ph for Final Fantasy stuffs. It was my phase that I was so into Final Fantasy VIII and how I miss playing it. Well enough about that, I was lucky to find someone selling the japanese version of FFVII, FFVIII, and FFIX. It wasn't until last week I decided to buy FFVII since it's probably the only popular Final Fantasy game and that it could be a collectible.

MG Gundam F91 Harrison's Custom Scans

I got myself an MG Gundam F91 Harrison's Custom as an early Christmas gift back in December 2009. I still haven't built it yet. The other day, was my first time to ever open the kit. Took out the manual to make some scans. I was a little bummed out that the manual got wrinkled cuz of the runners pressing on it.

Here are some scans I took.

Allan's Talabahan

Ate here last month. It's the only well known eatery in Oton.

I don't get why a lot of people eat at this place. It's just as any other by-the-road eatery. Then my girlfriend tells me, it's because, their oysters are delicious compared to any other place. I wouldn't know since I hardly eat oysters.

My parents weren't even convinced that their oysters tasted better compared to what they've had in Guam.

Pictures will be posted soon, once I find my DVDR with the pics.

Never Eat At Imay's

I've eaten at lots of places and Imay's has got to be at the lowest, even lower than Green Mango!

Lastnight (December 24, 2009) was my second time eating there. The first was with my parents. It took them forever to serve the food, though tasty, the food was not cooked well enough.

Lastnight, I was with Jen's family. Again, the food took forever to be served. No plates were even handed to us. Spoon and forks were apparently a commodity to them.

Appetizers were uncooked and the soup was not even that hot. Chicken was still bleeding.

Apparently the manager was out for the night. So we only paid for what we've eaten and left.

I wanna say more about places like this, but I'm too lazy to type :S
